Weft Extension Aftercare:

Use Professional Products ALWAYS!

Sulfate free shampoos and conditioners are best for extensions. A weekly mask is a must for extensions to prevent matting and tangling as the life of them gets less and less.

Brushing
Always brush 2-3 times a day to prevent matting/tangling. Matting/tangling can cause a shorter lifespan of extensions.
Hold the top of the weft/corners and brush from the bottom of the extensions up to the top of the extensions avoiding the stitching area. In the wintertime our hair likes to matte up against jackets and long sleeve tops so be aware of that during those months.

Oiling/Serums
Be sure to oil your ends every day. I recommend once in the morning after brushing and once at night. Hair extensions do you get the natural oils from our scalp so they MUST be oiled.

Heat Exposure
Try to limit heat as much as possible and instead using heatless methods. If you do use heat, get a professional heat protectant and turn the heat down to 350 or below to prevent color fading on the extensions.

Washing/Shampooing
Make sure to wash in between your rows if you have multiple rows and hold rows above to wash the scalp area very well. Separate rows when rinsing as well. DO NOT use a heavy conditioner on the attachment points as this can cause slipping.

Blowdrying
The top of all extension wefts and the scalp MUST be dried to prevent moisture build up at the attachment points. This will cause molding if not done properly.

Exercising/Working Out
Make sure to dry the top of the weft after getting sweaty to avoid moisture buildup in the stitching area and to prevent mold growth.

Summer Extension Care
If you plan on swimming with extensions, get your hair wet before going in the water and apply a conditioner or leave in conditioner and continue swimming as normal. Avoid all sunscreens that contain avobenzone. These can turn extension hair pink/peach on blonde hair.

Night Time Routine
Wear a loose braid with a silk scrunchy at night to prevent tangling. Use a silk pillowcase and do NOT go to bed with wet extensions. Make sure to brush and oil before your braid!

Pulling/Pain
You should not experience any pain from extensions. If you have an issue with this, please contact me immediately so we can resolve the issue. The first extension adjustment is free but after that it will be a $10 adjustment fee for minor adjustments.

Keratin Tip Aftercare

Aftercare
Please follow all instructions listed above for weft extensions as well as the additional instructions listed below.

Brushing
Use a brush with metal bristles with ensure no matting will occur. Hold attachment area and brush from the ends up. Brushing too close to the attachment can cause matting. Bonds must also be separated to prevent them matting together. If proper at home care is followed, removal will be easy otherwise it could be painful, and refusal of re-installing is a possibility.

Maintaining k-tips
Expect to lose 10-15% of your bonds. This happens as the natural hair sheds. If you notice a lot of hair coming out with your k-tips please let me know.

Heat/Blowdrying
Be mindful when drying the hair and using hot tools to not heat up the bonds as this may cause them to shed prematurely. Hold the blowdryer 6-8 inches away when blowdrying.
